Join Our Family

We are always looking for enthusiastic volunteers in Central Alberta to help out at the House, our signature events and various community activities. Volunteer opportunities range from short commitments of just a few hours to weekly recurring shifts at the House. Below you will find a list of openings for which we are currently recruiting volunteers.

Please note: We strive to provide all volunteers with meaningful opportunities that align with indicated areas of interest and personal growth. A police-check will be required for in-House volunteers.

Current Opportunities

Front Host/House Support Volunteers

In-House volunteers commit to an average of three to four shifts per month for a minimum of one year. These volunteers oversee front desk responsibilities including answering phones, assisting with family check-ins and check-outs, organizing and light cleaning, and answering general questions about the House. Please note that a police check is required for in-House volunteer roles. Apply online.

Home for Dinner VolunteersATCO cooks dinner

Our Home for Dinner program provides delicious homemade meals to families staying at the House. Perfect for those who enjoy cooking, this group activity is a volunteer opportunity and donation all in one!

Each group of up to eight people plans, purchases ingredients and prepares a meal for our families. Meals are made in our in-House kitchen and all cooking tools are provided. For our families, this eases the burden of preparing a meal after a long day at the hospital and provides some much-needed time to rest and recharge. Both dinner and brunch time slots are available.

To inquire about available dates, please contact us. Please note that a representative from every new dinner group must attend a Home for Dinner Orientation. Not interested in cooking? Contact us to purchase a meal for delivery.

Laundry Volunteers

Are you looking for a casual volunteer position? Ronald McDonald House Central Alberta is currently seeking volunteers to assist with laundry and other general housekeeping tasks. Volunteers will be placed on an on-call list and scheduled for weekday afternoon shifts on an as-needed basis.

If you are interested in learning more or applying for a volunteer opportunity listed above, please contact Lori Rechlo, Coordinator of Volunteer & Recreation Programs by email or phone 403-340-2007 ext. 109.
